Meet the Team

James Johnson Chief Operating Officer James was born and raised in Dublin, Georgia, and holds a B.S. in Diversified Agriculture from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. With a lifelong background in land and turf management, James has been deeply rooted in agriculture from an early age. He joined Sodmasters in 2020 as the farm manager for our Georgia location, bringing passion and dedication to his role every day. Now serving as Chief Operating Officer, James applies his extensive experience and expertise to ensure the smooth and consistent operation of our farms in both Georgia and South Carolina. Outside of work, James enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He lives in Georgia with his wife and their young son. Ty Herrington VP of Sales & Marketing Ty is a seasoned sales and marketing professional with over 15 years of industry experience, currently leading sales and marketing efforts at Sodmasters. Known for his relationship-driven approach, Ty excels in consultative sales, helping clients find tailored solutions to their unique challenges. His background spans marketing strategy, customer service, product development, and operations management. Ty holds a degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Georgia Southern University.

Outside of work, Ty enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He is also actively involved in youth sports as a coach for his son's travel baseball team. Ty is married to his high school sweetheart, Amanda, and they have two children—Cohen and AnnaClaire.
Brandon Eller Store Manager
Sodmasters Landscape Center
Brandon is an experienced store manager in the sod and landscape supply industry, with over 7 years of proven success in operations, customer service, and team leadership. Brandon specializes in providing high-quality materials and solutions to support residential and commercial landscaping projects. Brandon's approach combines hands-on industry knowledge with a strong focus on efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

Outside of work, Brandon is a devoted husband to his wife, Mckeinze, and father of three, living a rewarding rural lifestyle that includes caring for over 20 chickens and a pig. Brandon brings the same values of responsibility, commitment, and care to both his personal and professional life.
Kayley Pitts Dispatch Manager With a lifelong foundation in customer service, Kayley Pitts transitioned into logistics with purpose and passion. As dispatch manager at Sodmasters, she brings a hands-on, people-first approach to solving challenges in the trucking industry. Kayley is deeply committed to supporting both external and internal customers, and finds great joy in working with drivers, especially since she shares life with one.

Kayley is nothing without Christ, her husband Antwon, and their two boys, Hayden and Hendrix. They inspire her to grow every day, both personally and professionally. Her goal is to show her children what it means to work hard for a company you truly love. Watching her team grow and thrive has been one of the most rewarding parts of her journey, and she looks forward to retiring at Sodmasters, proud to be part of its continued success.
London Young Director of Logistics Born and raised in Middle Georgia, London graduated from Washington County High School in 2002 and began his logistics career in 2006. For the past 20 years, he has worked in the intermodal division at Howard Sheppard, building strong relationships with customers and drivers through hard work and dedication. London is thrilled to join Sodmasters and looks forward to contributing his experience to a team that is dedicated to serving customers and supporting drivers.

Outside of work, London enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. Together, they love hunting, fishing, and cheering on college football.
Lexi Hyman Marketing Director Lexi is the Marketing Director for all Sodmasters, where she brings a dynamic blend of creativity, strategy, and trend-savvy insight to elevate brand presence across markets. Originally from Ohio, Lexi earned her degree in Marketing and Sports Management while competing as a collegiate lacrosse player in North Carolina. Before stepping into the turf industry, she built a strong foundation in corporate partnerships and community relations within the sports world. Lexi thrives on collaboration, loves helping others grow, and believes the future of marketing lies in embracing both innovation and authenticity. Outside of work, she enjoys working out, traveling, and spending quality time and golfing with her husband, Chandler. Jerry Ashworth Sales of North and South Carolina With nearly a decade of experience in the sod industry, Jerry has built a reputation for reliability, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of turfgrass. Over the years, he has developed hands-on expertise in everything from soil preparation to sod installation and long-term lawn care.

Known for his customer-first mindset, Jerry takes pride in providing honest, helpful service and building lasting relationships with clients. His approach is rooted in practical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering results that customers can count on.

Outside of work, Jerry enjoys life with his wife Cierra and their four kids, who keep him grounded, motivated, and always moving forward.
Jennifer Haywood Controller Jennifer is the Controller at Bradbury Farms dba Sodmasters, bringing over 30 years of experience in finance and accounting leadership. She has served as CFO and Controller in multiple industries, including pharmacy, agriculture, and utility construction, with a background in public accounting. Jennifer holds a BBA in Accounting from Georgia Southern University, graduating Cum Laude.

Resides in East Dublin, GA, with her spouse, Bob Dixon, she enjoys trail riding, travel, and photography, and is an active member of the Church of Christ in Scott. Jennifer thrives on continuous improvement, new technology, and the strong relationships built throughout her career.
Kenny Neel Agronomist Kenny Neel has more than three decades of experience in the turf industry. As consulting agronomist to the Sodmasters team, Kenny trains and educates the farm managers on all aspects of sod production to deliver the highest quality sod. Kenny inspects fields at regular intervals, and makes agronomic decisions concerning soil and plant fertility, and pest control. He evaluates and makes recommendations concerning new sod varieties, procures new planting stock, and educates salespeople at the farm and at Sodmasters Landscape Center (SLC) on sod varieties and care. He consults with sod customers as requested and provides consultation and procurement assistance to SLC concerning ancillary products and usage recommendations. Kenny holds a degree in, Agronomy and Soils -Turfgrass Management from Auburn University. Riley Davidson Farm Manager Montrose, GA Riley is a dedicated Farm Manager to our Montrose, GA location, with deep roots in agriculture and a hands-on approach to leadership. Originally from Dublin, GA, Riley began as a field hand in 2021 and quickly earned respect across the farm through hard work, a focus on product quality, and a willingness to operate any piece of equipment when needed. Known for versatility and a strong work ethic, Riley oversees day-to-day operations with a commitment to excellence in every harvest. Outside of farm life, Riley enjoys hunting, fishing, singing, and playing golf. He’s a devoted husband to his wife (Maddie) and brings the same commitment to his personal life as he does to every acre he manages. Jacob Goddard Farm Manager Bennettsville, SC Originally from Lexington, South Carolina, and raised in Cheraw, Jacob developed a passion for agriculture and the outdoors early in life. He spent countless hours hunting and fishing on a family friend’s farm in Cash, South Carolina, experiences that sparked his interest in the natural world. In high school, his involvement in FFA deepened that interest, and he got the honor of serving as Chapter President at Cheraw High School during his senior year. Jacob went on to pursue his education at Clemson University, earning a B.S. in Agricultural Mechanization and Business with a minor in Turfgrass. Today, Jacob continues to enjoy outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and golf, and is very excited to be building his career with Sodmasters Turf Farm. Chris Hamrick Chief Executive Officer Chris Hamrick is an accomplished finance professional with over 15 years of industry experience. He holds a BBA in Management and an MBA from Georgia Southern University, and he is also a graduate of the Banking School at the University of Georgia. Outside of work, Chris enjoys the outdoors—whether it's hunting, fishing, hiking, or golfing. He also values traveling and spending quality time with his family: his wife, Kellie, and their two daughters, Paisley and EllieSlade.

How fast do you expect your sod to establish once installed?
Sod establishment encompasses the period between planting and the point when the turf reaches a level of sufficiency in development and appearance that is reasonable.
What type of maintenance requirements do you expect your sod to have?
Maintenance incorporates the different actions you may have to take on your lawn to maintain its health and good appearance. This may include irrigation, mowing, nutrient management, weed management, etc.
How much shade (or lack thereof) does the space where you will be installing sod have?
Shade tolerance is an influential factor behind grass growth. Think about the shade conditions of the space where you will be installing sod and select them here.
How much wear/traffic do you expect your sod to experience?
Think about where the sod will be installed and the types of activities that will take place on it (e.g., you may be placing patio furniture or a grill on the grass. Also, the grass may be prone to high foot traffic, etc.)
What kind of texture would you like your sod to have?
Blade width determines the look and feel of grass. Fine-textured grass has narrow blades and coarser grass has wider blades.
What shade of green would you like your sod to have?
Different varieties of sod range from lighter and brighter shades of green to darker shades.
